I’m off to Madrid tomorrow so that means no gym for a week but that’s never been enough to keep me from keeping active. My running shoes are packed, some runner’s forums online suggest the Parque de Retiro which is near my hotel, and I hope this hotel has solid floors ’cause I will be jumping. And of course, there is always some ever-giving, equipement free yoga to be done. I may need to up my calorie-burning activites while there (better yet, when I get back) as I will be eating like there is no tomorrow (Spanish food, tapas and wine = Devine). Yes, even health nuts like me sometimes give it all up for an all-out food fiesta. And you should, too. Unless you are a pro athlete mid-season or are getting paid $10,000 to walk the runways for Victoria’s Secret, there really is no reason to live strictly “good” 100 percent of the time. In fact, it’s more healthy not, too. Enjoy your life! I always endorse the 80/20 rule: Be good 80% of the time (eat well, work out) and break the rules 20% of the time (like for birthdays, Christmas and travel). The next week is all 20% of the time for me (besides the fact that I intend to keep workout out. What? I can’t help it.)
